Check Your Corners

Photography Assignment: Uncluttered pictures, check your backgrounds.

This was tougher than I thought it would be. I think this was mostly because I haven't been taking many pictures lately, so it was slim pickin's. I drug out the camera one day this week (thanks for the motivation Amy!), and here are some of the results.

Taken with: Nikon D3000
Focal Length: 40.0 mm
Shutter Speed:1/125
Aperture:f/5.6
ISO: 100

I take this picture of Julie a lot. I like it because I get a clear shot of her face, and the downward angle keeps the background simple. Plus it's easy to get. "Hey, Julie. Say cheese!" Now to work on matching her outfits...

Taken with: Nikon D3000
Focal Length: 36.0mm
Shutter Speed:1/30
Aperture:f/5.0
ISO: 400

My goal here was to zoom in and focus on the action. This helps to miss the clutter of the room around us. I'm not sure it totally worked, but I love that she's pointing right at the cucumber.
